Fruity Pop Irving Review: Elote Blanco and Salsa Macha

Fruity Pop Paleteria y Fruteria in Irving scored a 4.75 out of 5 from me, and it's a GO. Food, drinks and service all got a perfect 5, and ambience got a 4.

Their elote blanco paired with their homemade salsa macha was unlike anything else I've tried in DFW. If you've never had white-corn esquites made the right way, you need to try these.

What to order

Food scored a 5, and the elote is the reason to come. Not a lot of places have elote blanco AND homemade salsa macha, and together they're something special. It's so unique that you really need to try it yourself.

Fruity Pop is also a fruteria and paleteria, and drinks scored a 5 too, so it's a great stop for something sweet and refreshing alongside your elote.

The vibe (honest take)

Ambience got a 4. The space inside is a little small and not super inviting. I doubt that's something they're very focused on improving, because what they truly care about is the quality of their elotes and fruit. And honestly, that's where I'd want their energy to go.

This is a grab-it-and-enjoy kind of place, and that's part of its charm.

Service

Service got a 5. Everyone was kind, and it felt like a true neighborhood spot.

Tips

Go for the elotes.

Ask for the homemade salsa macha. It's what makes it unforgettable.

It's a $ spot, so it's an easy, affordable treat.

Plan to take it to go or eat it quickly; the space is small.

The verdict

Fruity Pop Paleteria y Fruteria in Irving is a 4.75/5 GO. It's for elote lovers, anyone who misses real Mexican street snacks, and people who want something affordable and delicious. Order the elote blanco with salsa macha and thank me later. Expect $ prices and some of the best elote in DFW.
