Hudson House Las Colinas Review: A Perfect 5/5 in Irving

Hudson House in Las Colinas is one of the very few places that has earned a perfect 5 out of 5 from me, and yes, it's a GO. Food, drinks, ambience and service all scored a 5, and when I tried to think of something they could do better, I honestly came up empty.

I know Hudson House is a Dallas staple, so I went in with high expectations. Sometimes that backfires, because the more a place gets hyped, the easier it is to be let down. This was not one of those times. If you're in Irving or Las Colinas and you're trying to pick a spot for a nice dinner, this is the one I'd point you to first.

The vibe

Ambience got a 5. It feels polished without being stuffy, the kind of place where you can dress up a little for a date night or come with friends and still feel relaxed. It's a classic sit-down dinner spot, and it does that classic feeling really well.

If you like a restaurant that feels put together from the moment you walk in, you'll be happy here. It's an easy pick when you want a night out to feel like a night out.

What to order

Food also got a perfect 5, and the dish I keep telling people about is the chicken parm. It was so flavorful that I genuinely think you can't skip it. If it's your first time, order it. If you're with someone, get it for the table so everyone gets a bite.

I'm putting Hudson House under pasta on my map, because that's what I'd go back for. When a restaurant nails a comfort classic like chicken parm, it tells you the kitchen cares about the basics, and that usually means the rest of the menu is in good hands too.

Drinks (and the mocktail)

Drinks scored a 5, and the star for me was the ginger mocktail. It was sweet and refreshing, and I want to give extra credit here because it's honestly hard to find places with great mocktails on the menu.

So many restaurants treat non-alcoholic drinks as an afterthought: a soda, maybe a lemonade, and that's it. Hudson House made a mocktail that felt just as thought-out as a cocktail. If you don't drink, or you're the designated driver, or you just want something lighter, you won't feel left out here.

Service

Service got a 5 too. A perfect score across the board only happens when the people taking care of you are as good as the food, and that was the case here. It made the whole dinner feel easy.

Tips

Go for the pasta, the drinks, and the mocktails. Those are the three things I'd build the night around.

Order the chicken parm. I can't say that enough. If you skip everything else on this list, don't skip that.

Try the ginger mocktail even if you usually drink. It's that good.

Price-wise, it's a $$$ spot, so I'd save it for a date night, a birthday, or a dinner where you want to treat yourself.

The verdict

Hudson House in Las Colinas is a 5/5 GO. It's for date nights, celebration dinners, and anyone who wants a classic, polished night out in Irving where everything just works. Come hungry, order the chicken parm, and get the ginger mocktail. Expect $$$ prices, and expect to leave already planning your next visit.

This is one of those places I recommend without a second thought. If you only try one spot from my map in Las Colinas, make it this one.
