Maria's Las Colinas Review: Good Fajitas, Pricey Extras
Maria's in Las Colinas scored a 4.25 out of 5 from me, but it's a SKIP. Ambience got a perfect 5, and food, drinks and service each got a 4.
The fajitas and queso were good, and the fajitas were honestly really good. But for me, food needs to be something special to make me want to go back, and paying $12 for mango juice felt almost illegal.
The vibe
Ambience scored a 5. It's a newer, trendy spot with a pretty, pink, modern look. It's a fun place to sit down with friends, and it photographs well.
The food
Food got a 4. Order the fajitas. They were the highlight and the reason I'd tell a friend who's already going what to get. The queso was good too.
Maria's is a Tex-Mex spot, and I'm putting it on my map for fajitas.
Drinks and service
Drinks scored a 4 and service scored a 4. The drinks were fine, but the prices are what stuck with me. That $12 mango juice is a good example of why the bill added up fast.
Tips if you go
Go for the fajitas.
Skip the pricey juice.
It's a $$$ spot, so set your expectations for the bill.
The verdict
Maria's in Las Colinas is a 4.25/5, but a SKIP from me. The space is beautiful and the fajitas are really good, but at these prices I need the whole meal to feel special. If you're already going, order the fajitas and enjoy the vibe. If you're deciding where to spend your Tex-Mex money, there are other spots on my map I'd pick first.
